About the Role
The Director of Workplace Health and Safety leads the development and implementation of WHS frameworks, ensuring employees operate in safe, compliant, and well-governed environments. This role bridges operational delivery and executive oversight, supporting leaders to meet legal obligations while improving workplace outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement workplace health and safety strategies
- Ensure compliance with Australian WHS laws and codes of practice
- Lead WHS teams and coordinate safety initiatives across the organisation
- Oversee audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions
- Report on safety performance to executive leadership and boards
- Drive continuous improvement and proactive risk management
- Support leaders in meeting due diligence obligations
Key Requirements
- Senior experience in WHS or HSE leadership roles
- Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation
- Qualifications such as Cert IV WHS, Diploma or Graduate Diploma in WHS, NEBOSH, or equivalent
- Experience managing audits, investigations, and regulatory engagement
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
