About the Role

The Director of Workplace Health and Safety leads the development and implementation of WHS frameworks, ensuring employees operate in safe, compliant, and well-governed environments. This role bridges operational delivery and executive oversight, supporting leaders to meet legal obligations while improving workplace outcomes.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement workplace health and safety strategies
  • Ensure compliance with Australian WHS laws and codes of practice
  • Lead WHS teams and coordinate safety initiatives across the organisation
  • Oversee audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions
  • Report on safety performance to executive leadership and boards
  • Drive continuous improvement and proactive risk management
  • Support leaders in meeting due diligence obligations

Key Requirements


  • Senior experience in WHS or HSE leadership roles
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation
  • Qualifications such as Cert IV WHS, Diploma or Graduate Diploma in WHS, NEBOSH, or equivalent
  • Experience managing audits, investigations, and regulatory engagement
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
