An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Quality Manager to join a leading engineering and technology organisation based in Melbourne. This is an immediate start contract role (4–6 months) with a strong view to permanent for the right candidate.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technically driven environment and can quickly embed themselves to drive quality performance, systems, and culture.

About the Role

You will be responsible for leading and deploying the organisation’s quality strategy across a local business unit. This includes driving continuous improvement, ensuring compliance, and embedding a strong quality culture across teams.

You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to enhance systems, processes, and overall operational performance, ensuring customer expectations are consistently exceeded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement the quality management strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on prevention and root cause analysis
  • Oversee and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance and effectiveness
  • Conduct and manage internal and external audit programs
  • Analyse quality data to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities
  • Partner with operational and engineering teams to improve product and process quality
  • Lead resolution of customer issues, ensuring sustainable corrective actions
  • Promote a “zero defects” mindset across the business
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Influence and support leadership in driving quality-focused decision making
About You
  • Proven experience in a Quality Manager or senior quality leadership role within engineering, manufacturing, or technology environments
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, auditing, and compliance frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision making
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across multiple business functions
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams
  • Experience working with customer-focused quality processes and systems
