This role supports a Major hazard facility in Darwin by providing hands-on SHEQ advisory support while also coordinating competency-based training across the workforce. Working closely with operations, maintenance and contractor teams, you will help strengthen safety culture, maintain compliance frameworks, and support continuous improvement.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the site’s Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Management Systems in line with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct inspections, audits and risk assessments, and assist with incident reporting, investigations and corrective action close-out.
  • Coordinate training programs, onboarding and competency requirements, including managing LMS records and liaising with external providers.
  • Monitor contractor compliance, permits, inductions and safety documentation to ensure safe work practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, emergency response preparedness, and proactive safety engagement across site teams.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in SHEQ/HSE advisory roles within high-risk industries such as Oil and Gas, Mining and high risk manufacturing
  • Experience in a Major hazard facility environment and experience with chemical management. 
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management, permits, MOC and general safety systems and process safety.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating training, maintaining compliance records and working with LMS platforms.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • A proactive, detail-focused safety mindset with the ability to build relationships and support a positive safety culture.
