This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on safety professional who enjoys being visible on site, influencing contractors and operational teams, and ensuring a safe transition from construction into live operations.
About the role
You will support the commissioning and operational readiness of a state-of-the-art automated fulfilment centre. Construction activities will largely be complete before your arrival, with the focus shifting to final fit-out works, contractor management, operational safety and preparing the facility for full operational handover.
You'll work alongside another Senior Safety Advisor to provide coverage across extended site operating hours, reporting directly to the Site Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day site safety activities across operational and contractor work
- Conduct site inductions and daily pre-start meetings
- Review and approve SWMS
- Issue permits to work
- Complete safety inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Manage the site's Safety Management System
- Investigate incidents and document findings in line with established frameworks
- Coordinate contractor management and compliance
- Build strong relationships with site leaders, builders and vendors
- Ensure all contractors are re-inducted and prepared for operational commencement
We're looking for a confident Senior Safety Advisor who is comfortable leading from the front.
You'll be someone who:
- Has experience within warehousing, logistics, manufacturing or industrial environments
- Is highly visible on site and enjoys engaging with people face-to-face
- Can confidently challenge unsafe behaviours and hold contractors accountable
- Takes ownership of safety systems rather than simply administering them
- Has strong knowledge of risk management, auditing and contractor management
- Is proactive, practical and solutions-focused
