Large-scale logistics hub has been in Sydney for over 80 years evolving continuously to become a thriving gateway to South-West Sydney. With two sites the business provides emergency services, aviation, training and logistics.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Enterprise Risk you will strategically and operationally manage safety for the business with a solution focused approach working alongside the Aviation Safety Manager. This is a leadership role where you will influence a strong culture across line managers and supervisors driving the changes and implementation of efficient systems, training and reporting. The purpose of this role is to embed change and progressive initiatives with a risk-based approach. The Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the safety of airside operations.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in health & safety or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A practical approach with strong knowledge of legislative requirements.
- The ability to drive change and performance to initiate and develop solutions to complex issues.
- Ability to problem solve, use judgement and make appropriate decisions.
- Demonstrated change management skills through the use of systems improvement and engaging with stakeholders.
- The capacity to quickly learn the business and become effective sooner rather than later.
- Office based role in Bankstown with occasional travel to one other site in Sydney
