Role: Development EHS Lead – Large scale construction

My client is a forward thinking and cutting edge organisation in the midst of some fantastic change and large scale construction projects.

Whilst the company is global, they have strong local leadership, autonomy and plans governed here in Australia, HQ being in Sydney.
  
Purpose of the Role

Lead Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) across my client's Sydney development projects.

This role will be a floating resource managing contractors and sub contractor HSE on each construction projects.

This role will report into the Group HSE Manager, with the ability to work from home occasionally and reporting into corporate HQ a few times a month.

A key focus of this role will be to work closely with the management team, ensuring high safety standards, strong governance, and continuous improvement throughout construction and infrastructure delivery is upheld out in the field.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead EHS assurance, governance, and capability across multiple hyperscale data centre projects.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with my client's EHS standards.
  • Work closely with general contractors, delivery partners, consultants, customers, and project teams.
  • Mentor and support EHS Project Managers, providing leadership and strategic oversight.
  • Drive continuous improvement and achieve industry-leading safety performance across development projects.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Strong leadership experience in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), ideally within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing contractor safety and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to coach and develop EHS professionals.
  • Strong governance, risk management, and safety assurance capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
