About the opportunities
Depending on your experience and the position, responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the implementation of WHS and Rail Safety Management Systems
- Providing practical safety advice to project teams, leadership and contractors
- Managing and monitoring critical safety risks across rail and infrastructure environments
- Conducting safety inspections, audits, surveillance and assurance activities
- Supporting contractor safety management and compliance
- Leading or supporting incident investigations and corrective actions
- Supporting safe working and rail operational safety requirements
- Participating in safety-in-design and risk assessment processes
- Coaching and mentoring project teams to improve safety performance and culture
- Ensuring compliance with relevant WHS legislation, rail safety legislation and project requirements
- Supporting continuous improvement across safety systems, processes and performance
We are interested in hearing from candidates with experience across rail construction, operations, maintenance, major infrastructure or transport projects.
Depending on the level of role, relevant qualifications and experience may include:
- Certificate IV, Diploma or tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety
- Demonstrated experience within rail, transport or major infrastructure environments
- Knowledge of WHS legislation and rail safety regulatory requirements
- Understanding of Rail Safety Management Systems and assurance frameworks
- Experience working with principal contractors, delivery partners, operators or asset owners
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience in risk management, auditing, incident investigation and contractor management
- Rail Industry Worker (RIW) competency and relevant rail/safe working qualifications will be highly regarded
