THE ROLE
This is a hands-on advisory role suited to an HSEQ professional who is comfortable working in a high-volume industrial environment and wants genuine ownership of day-to-day safety operations. Reporting to the National HSEQ Manager, you'll be the primary safety resource on site — driving compliance across health, safety, environment, and quality, while helping embed a practical, people-first culture across the facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining and improving the site's integrated management system in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001
- Leading incident investigations and driving corrective actions through to completion
- Conducting site inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments, and SWMS/SWP reviews across manufacturing and yard operations
- Managing hazardous substances compliance including risk assessments, SDS registers, and approved product lists
- Supporting inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety engagement across the workforce
- Coordinating injury management, workers' compensation, and return to work programs
- Supporting employee health, wellbeing, and fitness for duty — including individual and group-based initiatives
- Preparing HSEQ reporting and documentation for internal leadership and relevant regulators
- Tertiary qualification in WHS or a related discipline. Equivalent experience considered; Lead Auditor qualification desirable
- 2–3 years in a similar hands-on HSEQ advisory role
- Solid working knowledge of integrated management systems: ISO 45001, 9001, and 14001
- Prior exposure to manufacturing, industrial, or heavy construction environments. Prefabricated or civil experience well regarded
- The confidence to operate with autonomy and engage credibly with workers, supervisors, union representatives, and senior leadership alike
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust in a blue-collar environment
- Flexible on structure: full time or part time arrangement considered for the right candidate
- Join a business where people stay. Strong internal tenure reflects a stable, well-run operation
- Permanent role with long-term stability and an active project pipeline
- Direct influence over safety culture and systems, not a tick-and-flick compliance function
