HSE Coordinator – West Newcastle

Position Summary

My client is a highly successful industrial company within the construction industry. They have a wide array of clients within the resources and build construction areas on a national level especially.

They are currently needing an experienced HSE Advisor or Coordinator to support one major site of operation.

Civils experience is preferred but not essentuial, more so industrial experience is a must given the nauances of the day to day operation and clientele.

The HSE Coordinator supports a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace by ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, environmental regulations, and company management systems.

Working closely with operational teams, the role promotes a strong safety culture through training, risk management, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate HSE systems, site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage site inductions, training, licences, and competency records.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and promote HSE awareness.
  • Support operational teams, contractors, and the HSE Committee to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain HSE records, reporting, and management system requirements.
Skills & Experience
  • 3–5 years' HSE experience in a manufacturing, construction, industrial, or similar high-risk environment.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, environmental compliance, incident investigations, audits, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or Integrated Management Systems is desirable.
Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or higher).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Training in incident investigation and risk management.
  • Environmental Management qualification, Construction White Card, and ISO Internal Auditor training are desirable
