We have partnered with a leading Australian manufacturer and supplier with operations across Australia, New Zealand and North America. This organisation operates large-scale, with highly automated manufacturing facilities, including 24/7 production environments, and has a strong focus on safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and working closely with Production, Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical leaders, the role will be responsible for providing practical HSE leadership across the site, building capability within leaders and shift teams, and ensuring employees and contractors are held accountable for safe work practices.
This is a site-based role with the requirement to be visible on-site 5 days a week. To be successful in this role, you will need to be confident influencing without authority, and be able to engage effectively with a predominantly blue-collar, trade-based workforce.
Requirements
- Minimum Cert IV in WHS; Diploma/Degree in HSE or equivalent highly regarded.
- 3+ years' HSE advisory experience, ideally within manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
- Practical experience working with trade-based teams and operational environments.
- Strong understanding of Australian HSE legislation, standards and high-risk work requirements.
- Experience across areas such as contractor management, incident investigations, risk assessments, LOTO, plant & equipment, confined spaces, hazardous chemicals and working at heights.
- Strong influencing, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority.
- Comfortable working directly with production teams and spending significant time on the floor rather than operating predominantly from a desk.
- Experience supporting behavioural safety and cultural change initiatives.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively across different shifts and stakeholder groups.
- Experience with HSE systems and digital platforms would be advantageous.
