The Role
The Snr HSE Advisor is responsible for promoting a safe work culture, with a focus on monitoring and overseeing safety systems development, implementation and auditing, stakeholder relationship management and providing Health and Safety advice in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend work sites and inspect, monitor, lead, train, and mentor the delivery teams
- Ensure all projects are compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Take a lead role in promoting and driving a proactive safety culture and behaviors
- Enhance project activities through best practice education and implementation of the safety system of work.
- Achieve or exceed assigned KPIs to deliver good outcomes for stakeholders and the business.
- Measure Continuous Improvement
- Training and mentoring of operators to build knowledge, skills, and confidence in implementing a safe system of work
- Ensure all workplace incidents are reported, thoroughly investigated, and corrective actions implemented.
- Report on HSE performance at the workplace to the Group HSEQ Manager and Divisional / Operational Managers
- Support and implement initiatives to create a highly engaged, high performing culture
- Identify workplace hazards, assess risk, determine controls, and evaluate the processes to ensure the control measures are effective
- Ensure plant and equipment is checked regularly, maintained in safe and serviceable condition, and maintained records.
- Ensure non-conformances are completed within timeframe & remedial actions are effective
You hold tertiary qualifications in WHS (minimum Cert IV) and bring proven experience as a Senior HSE Advisor within the civil construction industry. Building relationships will be a key strength, complemented by your exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
