Western Sydney Airport (WSA) is the Australian Government-owned corporation delivering Sydney’s new airport, Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport. WSA have partnered with Zenergy on this search for the Health & Safety Business Partner.
Detailed design is now underway to refine the initial concept designs for Western Sydney International’s integrated international and domestic passenger terminal precinct, which will have the capacity to handle 10 million passengers in its first stage.
Western Sydney International is about sparking a new era of jobs and opportunities for the region, while also playing an important role in solving Sydney’s aviation capacity challenge.
The Western Sydney International Experience Centre is located on the Airport site and has welcomed thousands of community and business visitors who have learned more about the project and future airport through a digital exhibition.
Western Sydney International is on track to open to passenger and air cargo services in 2026.
Position
Reporting to the Executive Manager, Health and Safety, this position is a key role in the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team.
The purpose of the Health and Safety Business Partner is to implement and execute the WHS assurance program in support of WSA’s goal of zero harm.
This role will be expected to operate at an autonomous level with guidance from a highly experienced, inspiring and personable senior HSE manager.
As part of a high calibre team where you will undoubtedly learn a lot and the leadership adopt a professional but fun and rewarding working culture day to day.
The team operate to a high quality and objective standard, working on a daily basis continuously breaking new and exciting ground.
This role can be worked in a hybrid arrangement of up to 3 days in the office near to the airport itself and 2 days working from home.
Based out of the corporate office however you will be spending a large part of your role on the ground with the airport complex.
Key duties:
- Risk Management
- End to End Quality Assurance
- Design risk profiling and scheduling
- Bushfire and ground management
- Manage all third party contractors in relation to HSE deliverables
- Coordinate landslide assets
- Work independently to execute your area and also work as part of a team
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or equivalent
- Proven experience owning project work independently with proven examples
- Quality lead auditor certification
- Can do attitude and high energy
- Proven WHS management experience, on a similar project
- WHS subject matter expert, with a reasonable level of understanding around safety audits and incident investigations
- A workable understating on WHS law, including regulations and codes.
