Backed by a major global building materials group, the organisation manufactures and supplies products across residential, infrastructure and industrial markets. The business is in an active phase of safety maturity uplift and cultural improvement, and this role sits at the centre of that work across the South Australia and Northern Territory portfolio.

THE ROLE

This is an individual contributor position within a national Health and Safety team, reporting directly to the SA/NT Health and Safety Manager. The role is operational in nature and requires a practitioner who is comfortable on the ground, trusted by frontline teams, and capable of navigating sites at varying stages of safety maturity. The portfolio spans multiple divisions including cement, concrete and aggregate, and masonry operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct regular planned site visits to deliver training, audits and assurance activities across the SA and NT portfolio
  • Facilitate incident investigations and support the closeout of actions and learning outcomes
  • Monitor compliance against legislative and company requirements and maintain accurate records
  • Implement H&S campaigns and strategic initiatives aligned to the organisation's safety strategy
  • Support health and safety representatives and facilitate HSE committee meetings
  • Provide WHS advice and coaching to operational managers, supervisors and frontline leaders
  • Contribute to accurate and timely H&S performance reporting
THE ESSENTIALS
  • Certificate IV in WHS
  • Qualifications in incident investigation and/or auditing (ICAM, Learning Teams or Lead Auditor)
  • Minimum three years of experience in a regulatory, heavy industry, infrastructure or construction environment
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating incident investigation and auditing against legislative or company requirements
  • Proven ability to work alongside frontline operations to reduce risk and build capability
  • Experience in contractor management
  • Willingness to travel intrastate across the SA and NT portfolio
  • Ability to complete psychometric and medical assessments as part of the selection process
THE BENEFITS
  • Defined career development pathway with a clear goal of transitioning to a Business Partner role within 12 months
  • Exposure to a wide range of operational environments and risk profiles across a national business
  • Collaborative, agile team culture that values continuous learning and improvement
  • A people focused role with genuine influence over safety outcomes during a pivotal period of organisational growth
