The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a well-established civil infrastructure contractor delivering complex projects across water, utilities and transport infrastructure. Due to continued project growth, the business is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to partner closely with operational teams and drive best-practice safety, health, environmental and quality outcomes across project delivery.
This role will suit a safety professional who enjoys working closely with frontline teams, influencing behaviours on site and embedding practical, sustainable safety practices across operations.
The Role
Reporting to the GM HSE and partnering closely with project and operational leaders, you will play a key role in integrating SHEQ strategy into day-to-day project delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with operational leaders to embed health & safety strategy across projects
- Coaching and mentoring frontline personnel to strengthen safety leadership capability
- Supporting the development and implementation of systems, policies and procedures
- Conducting risk assessments and supporting the management of safety and environmental risks
- Leading incident investigations and implementing preventative actions
- Monitoring safety performance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting project teams through audits, inspections and regulatory requirements
- Developing and delivering engaging safety training and toolbox sessions
About You
You are a collaborative safety professional who enjoys building relationships across operational teams and translating strategy into practical site outcomes.
You will likely bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar Safety Advisor role
- Experience within civil construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong coaching and mentoring capability with frontline teams
- Sound knowledge of Australian WHS and environmental management systems
- Experience supporting incident investigations and risk management processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Diploma in Work Health & Safety
- ICAM Investigation training
- Cert IV Training & Assessment
