Position
The Work Health Safety and Environment (WHSE) Group Manager provides leadership, direction and strategic oversight of WHSE functions across production operations mainly focused in New South Wales and Queensland. This role partners with the executive team to embed a “safety first” mindset across the Group, ensuring compliance while driving cultural change, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Working with the Group Executive and Leadership Team, develop and implement plans in alignment with the organisations Business Strategy goals and objectives.
- Lead transparent communication and consultation processes on WHSE matters, ensuring employee voices are heard and acted upon
- Engage proactively with regulators, auditors, clients, contractors; provide expert WHSE input for tenders/projects.
- Drive Group alignment by ensuring all initiatives and decisions support Group objectives and meet stakeholder expectations.
- Support tendering and project delivery processes with WHSE input to demonstrate compliance and competitiveness.
- Provide regular updates, risk assessments, and post-implementation reviews.
Group WHSE Manager
- Experience in contemporary safety leadership and/or management working in a large scale, higher risk organisation
- Demonstrated ability to lead and shape safety cultural change and transformation
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and deliver programs to reduce environmental impact desirable
- Proven ability to build relationships with external parties such as regulators and drive performance improvement with outsourced delivery partners
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Environmental Science or Engineering or related discipline.
- WHSE Leadership in manufacturing, construction & related sectors favourable
- Proven track record in sustaining accredited systems such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
