Working at a corporate level with reach across multiple business units, you’ll help uplift safety maturity, embed consistent frameworks, and drive positive health, safety, and environmental outcomes across the group.
The Opportunity You will play a key role in delivering and maturing the organisation’s HSE Strategic Plan, supporting cultural development, ensuring governance is strong, and driving consistent system capability. The position oversees HSE data, reporting, committee structures, and incident system performance, while also providing targeted support to operational teams when required.
Key Responsibilities Governance & Strategy
- Maintain and improve the HSE governance framework and ensure committee effectiveness across the group.
- Lead development and delivery of the Group-wide HSE Strategic Plan.
- Manage HSE strategic reporting and system configuration, including dashboards and incident platforms.
- Support project management teams with HSE due diligence and change management processes.
- Support implementation of the Injury Management system and partner closely with internal rehabilitation stakeholders.
- Lead wellbeing initiatives aligned to psychosocial risk profiles and cultural goals.
- Develop and maintain corporate HSE frameworks aligned with ISO45001 readiness.
- Strengthen incident management, emergency response systems, and business continuity planning.
- Enhance WHS assurance processes and partner with Risk & Compliance on audit programs.
- Conduct corporate HSE system audits and support Business Unit teams as required.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of an Environmental Management System with a pathway to ISO14001 certification.
- Lead environmental data capture for ESG reporting.
- Support and champion sustainability initiatives across the organisation.
- 3–5+ years’ experience in a similar HSE role.
- Experience developing and implementing WHS systems (ISO45001 highly regarded).
- Exposure to environmental systems (ISO14001 desirable).
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Cert IV or Diploma in OHS (preferred).
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and data analysis skills.
- A proactive, growth-focused mindset with a passion for safety culture and continuous improvement.
