Position
This newly created and exciting Director of Safety and Risk role offers the opportunity to work on unique and often complex projects. Reporting directly to the General Manager while working closely with the CEO and Board, this position will focus on shaping and delivering the organisation’s safety, enterprise risk and infrastructure strategy while driving initiatives across WHS, risk management, and regulatory compliance within a complex, event-driven and cultural environment.
Director of Safety & Risk Requirements
- Tertiary qualified in Workplace Health and Safety and or Environment or a related discipline.
- Deep knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and psychosocial risk obligations.
- Strong expertise in enterprise risk management frameworks, compliance governance and audit processes.
- Experience in event, venue, arts, entertainment or similar complex operational environments will be highly desirable.
- Proven ability to develop, implement and embed WHS and compliance systems that translate from policy into consistent operational practice.
- Experience advising Executive Leaders, Board and Regulators.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to proactively manage risk exposure.
- Experience managing public safety, contractors, licences and high-risk activities in dynamic environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage with government, regulators, contractors and creative teams.
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when required by events and programming.
