The Role
As the HSWE Critical Risk Senior Lead, you will play a pivotal role in embedding, managing, and continuously improving Telstra’s Health, Safety, Wellbeing, and Environment (HSWE) Critical Risk Framework. Leveraging your expertise in delivering risk and safety programs within large, complex organisations, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and oversight of the Critical Risk Framework, ensuring it directly supports both HSWE and broader business strategies.
In this role, you will shape a culture of accountability where leaders and employees are empowered to proactively identify, assess, and manage critical health, safety, and environmental risks. Through strong governance, practical frameworks, and innovative tools, you will enable Telstra to maintain safe, sustainable operations while meeting its regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and embed Telstra’s HSWE Critical Risk Framework and governance structure, ensuring clear ownership of risks across business functions.
- Provide robust HSWE risk standards, processes, and tools to enable effective risk management organisation wide.
- Enable leaders to understand and manage the HSWE risks relevant to their people and functions, including regulatory and compliance obligations.
- Develop and maintain HSWE Critical Risk Bowties and associated control frameworks.
- Design and manage HSWE Critical Risk performance dashboards providing clear insights into risk and performance.
- Promote initiatives that enhance safety, wellbeing, and sustainability outcomes across the business.
You will bring significant expertise in critical risk modelling, HSE risk management, and systems development. With strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, you are confident working across complex organisations to deliver outcomes.
Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline, you are a proven leader who can manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, while fostering collaboration and driving cultural change in relation to safety, wellbeing, and risk.
